QCVN 134:2024/BTTTT: National technical regulation on Specific Absorption Rates for hand-held and body-worn wireless communication devices
On December 31, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) issued QCVN 134:2024/BTTTT “National technical regulation on specific absorption rate of handheld and body-worn radio equipment”.
Reference documents:
• IEC 62209-1528:2020 Measurement procedure for the assessment of specific absorption rate of human exposure to radio frequency fields from hand-held and body-worn wireless communication devices – Human models, instrumentation and procedures (Frequency range of 4 MHz to 10 GHz).
• ICNIRP Guidelines for limiting exposure to time-varying electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic fields (up to 300 GHz), 2020.
Technical regulation:
The limits for specific absorption rate (SAR) are specified in the table below:
Product scope:
This standard specifies the limits and methods for measuring the specific absorption rate for radio equipment with an equivalent isotropically radiated power greater than 20 mW and designed by the manufacturer to be used at a distance of less than 200 mm from a person.
This standard does not apply to implantable medical devices.
